Anna and Simon’s wedding day began at The Box House Hotel, a contemporary, boutique hotel in the industrial chic neighborhood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Anna selected a large loft room with a balcony overlooking midtown Manhattan. Simon’s suite also had a balcony with a city view backdrop, where Dimitri took some great portraits of the groom. The getting-ready photos were gorgeous because Anna planned well and brought in some extra flowers from the florist, velvet ring boxes, a silver tray and other items, which I used to style the photos. We photographed the couple’s first look outside The Box House’s beautiful facade, complete with a vintage yellow cab. Then we went to the brand new Domino Park for bridal party photos. Domino Park is on the former Domino sugar factory property, which sits on the waterfront in Greenpoint and has spectacular views of Manhattan. It was a very warm, sunny day but in spite of the heat, the group remained in wonderful spirits and the photos looked beautiful and bright. We then headed to Dobbin Street for the wedding ceremony and reception. It was my first time at the venue and I was very pleased with the layout and design of the converted factory and its indoor and outdoor spaces. The main floor has a modern, minimalist design, where Anna and Simon hung a large floral centerpiece from the ceiling and used custom lighting to make the space their own. We gathered on the ground floor terrace for family photos, and then the rooftop was where the ceremony and cocktail hour were held. The ceremony was beautiful with stunning views and abundant natural light. It was a peaceful, serene setting for their lovely Jewish wedding. After guests enjoyed a sunset cocktail hour there, the festivities continued on the main floor. Anna and Simon did an amazing job styling the wedding details to perfection and we were honored to be there to capture it.
