Kristina and Grayson are a beautiful couple and they threw one of the most fun weddings I have ever attended. While the bride’s father owns a few of the most popular wedding venues in Manhattan, they opted for this photo studio space to host their large group in a unique setting. Masterpiece Catering and the events group at Battery Gardens teamed up to throw this 450-person affair. It kept us on our toes but was well worth it, as we were so happy with the photos and videos from this special event. Kristina is the global event operations senior manager at Twitter, so she is very familiar with throwing large parties. The couple were great hosts and seemed to spend time with every person who came. Many of their family and friends joined from California, where the couple lives, as well as from overseas, so they wanted to give their guests a memorable New York City experience. All enjoyed a sunset cocktail hour at Elevated Acre, a garden overlooking the East River, which is adjacent to Dune Studios where the reception was held. Towering seafood displays abounded, while sushi chefs carved out appetizers and helicopters flew overhead. Guests entered the reception via a long corridor displaying graffiti murals made for the couple and signage directing the guests into the sprawling studio space with floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of the Brooklyn Bridge and the city skyline. The Hank Lane Band put on one of the most unforgettable performances I have ever seen from a wedding band. Guests took over the stage and the band head-banged on the floor. The guests sat on each other’s laps and swayed back and forth to the song, “Rock the Boat.” At the end of the night, glow sticks came out as the DJ took over, bearing the slogan “I Dove NY,” Dove being the couple’s last name. It was a truly memorable wedding!
