Plaza Hotel Winter Wedding Photography

It was such a pleasure for us to do both the photography and videography for this gorgeous winter wedding at The Plaza Hotel. Kristal and JP wanted to keep the special moment of seeing each other at the aisle for the first time, so we did not do a first look. We shot the getting-ready photos in the bride and groom’s respective Plaza Hotel rooms. We had to be creative and resourceful with our pictures since we did not have natural light or time outdoors. Luckily, we had a duplex suite, which was a beautiful backdrop for the initial images.  Emotions were intense when Kristal entered the Terrace Room for the ceremony. As she walked down the aisle with her father, she was full of tears. It was a special moment to capture.

A Candel-light Ceremony

The guests were surrounded by hundreds of flickering candles as the couple said their vows. A Catholic Priest and a Rabbi performed the interfaith ceremony together. They incorporated traditions from both the Catholic and Jewish faiths, such as prayers and the Breaking of the Glass. The ceremony was followed by portraits and a few photographs of the bride and groom in front of the enormous Christmas tree on the iconic steps outside the Plaza Hotel and in the stairway leading to the Grand Ballroom.

A Stunning Wedding Gown

Kristal’s Galia Lahav gown flowed down the steps and it was a beautiful sight to capture.  When Kristal and JP entered the Grand Ballroom for their first dance, the guests were incredibly excited and the first dance photos were stunning. Kristal and her father then shared one of the most touching father-daughter dances I have ever seen. The food was amazing, the speeches were entertaining and moving, and the bride and groom thoroughly enjoyed their day, as you can plainly see. I am sure it was because they had their dream wedding in New York City at The Plaza Hotel.
