An Oheka Castle wedding to remember
On a beautiful day in May, we had the pleasure of photographing and filming Melissa and Sebastian’s Jewish wedding at the stunning Oheka Castle, one of Long Island’s most iconic wedding venues. The couple also entrusted us to capture their rehearsal dinner at Fox Hollow the day before, allowing us to document not just their wedding day but the moments leading up to it. It was an honor to be a part of both events, which held great significance for Melissa, Sebastian, and their families.
Oheka Castle, located in Huntington, NY, is a venue that is particularly close to my heart as it’s in my hometown. This magnificent estate, built in 1919 by financier Otto Hermann Kahn, is the second-largest private residence ever constructed in the United States. Its grandeur and elegance have made it a favorite location for weddings, as well as a popular setting for films and television shows, including the famous “Citizen Kane.”
An iconic wedding destination
Each time we return to Oheka Castle, we discover something new to capture, and this wedding was no exception. The couple’s first look took place on the castle’s iconic staircase, where we were able to capture their genuine emotions in this breathtaking setting. The renowned gardens of Oheka provided a perfect backdrop for bridal party photos, and we made sure to highlight the beauty of this meticulously maintained landscape in every shot.
