Wedding photography at The Lannin, Long Island
We’re always thrilled when we get to work with a family more than once—especially one as close-knit and sentimental as this. Carolyn and Joseph’s wedding was extra special because we had already booked her sister’s wedding and were so excited to know we’d be seeing this wonderful family again soon. From the moment we arrived at Carolyn’s childhood home, we knew it would be a meaningful and beautifully documented day.

Getting ready at a beautiful family home
The day began with getting ready photos at Carolyn’s parents’ home in Garden City, and it’s safe to say the setting was picture-perfect. The house photographed beautifully, and we always love capturing those intimate moments in the home where the bride grew up—it adds a personal layer to the story. Everyone was on time, hair and makeup were done, and the house was clean and ready with details like the bouquets, rings, and invitations laid out. Carolyn even had her grandmother nearby, making for some heartfelt multigenerational moments that we were honored to capture.
A timeless church wedding ceremony
The ceremony was held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Hempstead. This traditional space offered a warm, reverent atmosphere for Carolyn and Joseph’s vows. We arrived early for video setup and had time to speak with the priest and ensure our camera placements respected the space. The ceremony itself was full of emotional glances and proud smiles, with a beautiful church exit photo on the steps that included their entire bridal party and family.
Vintage car photos and golden hour portraits
Following the ceremony, we met at The Lannin for portraits with a vintage car, adding a fun and timeless touch to the couple’s photo collection. The bridal party was full of energy, and the venue grounds provided an elegant backdrop for group and couple portraits alike. As the sun began to set, we took advantage of the golden hour light for romantic bride and groom shots. These were some of our favorite images from the day—soft, glowing, and full of love.
We leaned into our traditional wedding photography style for this elegant and chic couple. This style focuses on capturing timeless moments with a classic touch. If you’re interested in learning more, feel free to check out our article on traditional wedding photography.
Family photo planning made easy
Carolyn and Joseph made time in the schedule to ensure their extended family members were included in the group portraits. From grandparents and siblings to extended relatives, we captured meaningful combinations with everyone. With such a large guest list—257 people in total—it was important to be efficient but intentional, and the couple’s planning made this smooth for everyone involved.
An elegant reception at The Lannin
The reception at The Lannin was elegant and vibrant. The couple opted out of table photos, choosing instead to enjoy every moment with their guests on the dance floor—and we don’t blame them. Our photographers roamed the room capturing candid and posed moments throughout the night. A staged cake cutting took place earlier in the evening during the room reveal, and later on, the party kicked into full swing. Carolyn and Joseph were radiant all night, surrounded by joyful family and friends.
