Wedding Photography: Maria and Eric’s Elegant Central Park Celebration
Maria and Eric’s wedding was a beautiful spring celebration in the heart of New York City. Their day began at the iconic Essex House overlooking Central Park and continued with a traditional church ceremony followed by portraits in the park and a lively reception back at the hotel. For couples searching for Essex House wedding photography, this wedding is a perfect example of how seamlessly the venue pairs classic New York elegance with the natural beauty of Central Park.
Our team captured both photography and video for the day, documenting the quiet moments of getting ready, the emotion of the ceremony, and the joyful celebration that followed. We are also excited to be working more closely with Essex House and look forward to capturing many beautiful weddings at this historic Central Park venue.

Getting Ready at Essex House
The day began with Maria getting ready at Essex House with her bridesmaids and family. The hotel’s elegant interiors and beautiful natural light make it a wonderful location for wedding preparations. Our team photographed the finishing touches of hair and makeup along with meaningful details such as the rings, invitations, and bouquet.
One of the most emotional moments of the afternoon was Maria’s first look with her father. These quiet moments before the ceremony are often some of the most meaningful photographs of the entire day, capturing the anticipation and emotion before everything begins.
Meanwhile, Eric and his groomsmen prepared in another room at Essex House. These moments tend to be relaxed and full of laughter as the groom puts on final accessories, shares a few jokes with friends, and prepares to head to the ceremony.

Ceremony at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle
Maria and Eric chose the Church of St. Paul the Apostle for their ceremony, a beautiful historic church located just a short distance from Essex House. The ceremony was traditional and heartfelt, with family and friends gathered to witness the couple exchange vows.
After the ceremony, our team photographed extended family portraits at the church. With many family members traveling to celebrate with the couple, these portraits were an important part of documenting the day. The church’s architecture and elegant surroundings created a timeless setting for these family photographs.

Central Park Wedding Portraits
Following the ceremony, the bridal party and the couple traveled to Central Park for portraits. With Essex House located directly across from the park, it is one of the best venues in New York City for couples who want classic Central Park wedding photography.
The bridal party brought incredible energy to the portrait session, with eight bridesmaids and eight groomsmen creating a lively and fun atmosphere. After capturing group photos, we spent time photographing Maria and Eric together in the park, creating romantic portraits surrounded by the spring greenery.
These moments in Central Park are always a highlight of weddings at Essex House. The park provides a natural contrast to the elegance of the hotel and creates timeless New York City wedding portraits.

Cocktail Hour and Reception at Essex House
After portraits in the park, the wedding party returned to Essex House where guests were already enjoying cocktail hour. Our team captured candid photos of guests mingling as well as details of the food and the elegant reception space before the ballroom opened.
Before the reception began, Maria and Eric were invited into the ballroom for a private viewing of the space. This is always a special moment for couples, giving them a chance to see the room fully set for the first time before guests enter.
The reception began with a grand entrance followed by the couple’s first dance and heartfelt parent dances. The evening continued with speeches from Maria’s father, the best man, and the maid of honor before guests filled the dance floor for the rest of the night.
