This wonderful Greek Orthodox wedding at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Port Washington, followed by a reception at Royalton on the Greens, was one of those celebrations.

This wedding began with preparations in Melville before the couple exchanged vows during a beautiful ceremony at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church. Wedding Morning Preparations

The day began with both the bride and groom getting ready at separate locations in Melville, allowing our photography team to document both sides of the wedding morning simultaneously.

The bride prepared at Royalton on the Greens, surrounded by her closest family and friends. One of the best pieces of advice we give every couple is to have hair and makeup completed before photography begins. This allows us to capture the finishing touches without feeling rushed while creating clean, elegant images of the dress, shoes, invitation suite, jewelry, bouquet, and other meaningful details.

A tidy hotel suite also makes an enormous difference in the final photographs. Clearing away luggage, shopping bags, food containers, and everyday items helps create timeless images that keep the focus exactly where it belongs, on the excitement of the wedding morning.

Meanwhile, our second photographer documented the groom getting ready at the Hilton Garden Inn Melville. One of the highlights of the afternoon was the joyful church exit. Family and friends gathered outside the church steps, creating a beautiful send-off as the newlyweds made their way through a celebration filled with smiles, hugs, and excitement.

These moments are wonderfully candid because the couple is no longer focused on the ceremony itself. The emotions become lighter, guests begin congratulating the newlyweds, and genuine laughter naturally unfolds, creating some of the happiest photographs of the entire day.

Sunset Portraits at Royalton on the Greens

Following the church ceremony, the celebration continued at Royalton on the Greens, one of Long Island’s most elegant wedding venues. With its beautifully landscaped grounds, manicured gardens, and classic architecture, it provides countless opportunities for timeless wedding portraits.

The timing worked out perfectly, allowing us to take the bride and groom outside just before sunset. The soft autumn light created a beautiful glow, giving the portraits a romantic and elegant feel that simply can’t be replicated at any other time of day. Whenever possible, we encourage couples to set aside at least 20 to 30 minutes around sunset for portraits. These are often some of the favorite images in the final gallery because the lighting is naturally flattering and the pace of the day slows down for a few quiet moments together.

Afterward, we photographed the bridal party before moving indoors for additional portraits throughout the venue. Royalton on the Greens offers beautiful indoor spaces as well, making it easy to create elegant portraits regardless of the weather.

An Energetic Greek Wedding Reception

As guests entered the ballroom, the celebration quickly came to life. Greek weddings are known for their incredible energy, and this reception was no exception.

The evening was filled with heartfelt speeches, joyful embraces, and an atmosphere that celebrated not only the newlyweds but the coming together of two wonderful families. Throughout the night, our team focused on documenting both the planned events and the countless candid moments happening between them, ensuring the gallery reflected the complete story of the celebration.
