A Timeless NYC Wedding at The Harold Pratt House: Bessie and Daniel’s Elegant Celebration

We were incredibly excited to finally have the opportunity to shoot at The Harold Pratt House for Bessie and Daniel’s wedding. Bessie found us through a recommendation from her best friend, whose wedding we had the pleasure of photographing. As the maid of honor at that wedding, Bessie loved the photos and the experience of working with us, so we were thrilled when she reached out for her own big day. Having captured weddings at many of New York City’s private clubs, including India House, The Yale Club, The Harvard Club, The Union League Club, Sixty Pine, and more, we knew we would do a fantastic job for her, especially given the venue’s classic, dark library feel.

A Beautifully Planned Wedding Day

The day began with Bessie and her bridal party getting ready in the elegant bridal suite at The Harold Pratt House. With hair and makeup completed just in time, the morning was filled with excitement and anticipation. Meanwhile, Daniel prepared in another suite, sharing laughs with his groomsmen as they added the finishing touches to their wedding day looks. The couple’s first look took place on the grand staircase, where Daniel saw Bessie for the first time in her wedding dress. The moment was intimate and emotional, with the stunning floral staircase serving as a perfect backdrop. After capturing breathtaking portraits, we moved outside for additional shots against the historic building’s façade, as well as in the beautifully furnished indoor spaces of the venue.

First look and photos on Park Avenue

We love a good photoshoot on Park Ave! It is such a cool place to do photos, with the cars wizzing by and the tall buildings all around. Plus there is always an art piece or landscaping to provide a beautiful touch to the photos. The location was conveniently close to the Harold Pratt house, and it was nice to get outside on the streets of the city for a few pics!

Bessie and Daniel’s wedding at The Harold Pratt House was a celebration of love, elegance, and timeless beauty. The historic mansion, located in the heart of New York City, provided the perfect setting for their special day, with its classic architecture and warm ambiance. One of our favorite moments of the day was capturing the couple’s portraits on the grand staircase, which was adorned with a breathtaking garland of colorful flowers. The floral arrangement created a romantic, storybook-like atmosphere, making for some of the most stunning wedding portraits of the day. The soft natural light filtering through the grand windows complemented the intricate details of Bessie’s gown and Daniel’s sophisticated attire, making each shot a true work of art. There were a lot of different camera angles and poses that our photographers used to create a beautiful set of photos with this one location. We also used our off camera flash here since it is a dark area, the flash looks beautiful in a setting such as this.

A Celebration Filled with Love and Laughter

Following a heartfelt ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed an elegant cocktail reception. The grand rooms of The Harold Pratt House were beautifully decorated, with candlelit tables and floral centerpieces that matched the staircase garland. The evening was filled with laughter, meaningful toasts, and plenty of dancing as family and friends celebrated the union of Bessie and Daniel. Our photographers made sure to capture the ambiance of the night, from candid moments of guests mingling to the joyous energy on the dance floor. The final event of the evening, the cake cutting, took place at 8:30 PM, marking the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable day. As the night came to a close, we left knowing that we had captured a timeless love story in one of New York’s most historic and elegant wedding venues.

Even though Bessie and Daniel’s wedding was small in scale and didn’t have all the usual wedding formalities, it resulted in beautiful photos nonetheless. Thanks to a talented photographer, beautiful couple, creative florist, and stunning venue. The photos we captured were stunning and classic and truly embodied the NYC classic vibe that this bride and groom wanted.
