Getting Ready in Mineola

The day began with Sarah getting ready at her home in Mineola. The atmosphere was calm but full of anticipation, with those final “finishing touch” moments that always photograph beautifully. Natural light filled the space, allowing for clean, polished images that highlighted both the details and the emotion of the morning.

We focused on capturing everything from her invitation suite and accessories to the more meaningful interactions with her family and bridesmaids. One of the standout moments was a first look with a parent, which always adds a layer of emotion and connection early in the day.

At the same time, Jon was getting ready nearby with his groomsmen. The energy there was relaxed and upbeat, with classic moments like putting on cufflinks, adjusting jackets, and spending time with family before heading to the ceremony. These parallel getting ready moments help tell a complete story and create balance in the final gallery.

A Classic Church Ceremony at Corpus Christi Parish

The ceremony took place at Corpus Christi Parish in Mineola, which set a timeless and traditional tone for the day. One of the highlights leading into the ceremony was Sarah arriving in a Rolls Royce, a moment that felt both elegant and cinematic and made for beautiful entrance photos.

Inside the church, the ceremony felt intimate and meaningful. The focus was on genuine reactions, the couple’s connection, and the emotion of the moment. From Jon’s reaction as Sarah walked down the aisle to their exit at the end of the ceremony, every part of this portion of the day contributed to a strong, classic wedding story.

After the ceremony, guests gathered on the church steps for a celebratory exit, creating one of those joyful, high-energy moments that always stand out in the final gallery.

Arrival and Portraits at Larkfield

After returning from Northport Harbor, we continued portraits at Larkfield, capturing family combinations and additional bridal party photos. Doing a second round of family photos at the venue gave the couple the opportunity to include more people and refine the groupings in a more relaxed setting.

Larkfield itself provides a beautiful backdrop for portraits, with its manicured grounds and clean architectural lines. We also spent time capturing bride and groom portraits around the property, focusing on both classic compositions and more natural, candid moments.

Reception Details and Golden Hour

Before guests entered the reception, we photographed the room in its finished state, capturing the décor, table settings, and overall design. Larkfield’s reception space is known for its polished, elegant look, and it always photographs beautifully.

We also stepped out for golden hour portraits just before sunset. The timing was ideal, with soft, warm light that added a romantic, flattering tone to the images. These portraits are always a highlight because they provide a different mood compared to earlier photos in the day.

As the light shifted, we brought the couple back inside for a few final portraits in the reception space, creating a nice transition into the evening portion of the wedding.

A High-Energy Reception at Larkfield

The reception was lively from the start, with a packed dance floor and a great mix of classic moments and candid interactions. With 120 guests, the room felt full but still intimate, allowing for both big, energetic shots and smaller, more personal moments.

Instead of focusing heavily on table photos, we captured a mix of candid guest interactions and natural portraits throughout the evening, making sure to photograph as many guests as possible in a way that felt organic and unobtrusive.

One of the standout moments later in the night was Sarah’s outfit change. These transitions always bring a fresh energy to the reception and give us an opportunity to capture a different look and feel as the night continues.

Later in the evening, Sarah changed into a short dress that was perfect for dancing, giving the night a fun and effortless shift in energy. She paired the look with delicate lace sleeve accessories that were detached from the dress, adding a stylish, modern touch while still tying back to her bridal look earlier in the day. She finished it off with sneakers, which made it easy to fully enjoy the dance floor and added a relaxed, playful feel to the photos as the night continued.Larkfield wedding Photos of cutting a wedding cake at Larkfield
