Getting Ready in Jersey City: The Day Begins

Our day began at two different locations in Jersey City, where both Victoria and Mike prepared for their big day. Victoria’s getting ready photos took place at 38 Mercer Street, a beautiful home filled with natural light and charm. As we arrived, the bridal suite was buzzing with excitement. Hair and makeup were in the final stages, and Victoria was surrounded by her closest friends and family. We captured the final touches of her preparations, from her mom adjusting her veil to the delicate details of her wedding dress, rings, and bouquet. The room was filled with emotion as Victoria prepared to meet Mike for their first look at Liberty State Park.

Meanwhile, Mike’s getting ready photos were taken just a short distance away at 257 Halladay Street. Our second photographer, Michelle, was there to capture the groom’s preparation as he and his groomsmen dressed and helped each other with boutonnieres. These candid moments reflected the close bond between Mike and his friends, who were by his side as he got ready to marry the love of his life.

This intimate moment is always one of the most emotional parts of the day, and for Victoria and Mike, it was truly unforgettable. Surrounded by the beauty of the park, with the iconic New York City skyline as the backdrop, the couple shared a private moment together before the festivities began. The excitement and love between them were palpable, and we were able to capture every tear, smile, and embrace as they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day.

Bridal Party and Family Photos: Capturing the Love

Following the first look, we moved into bridal party photos. With 12 bridal party members, the group brought a fun and energetic vibe to the day. We captured a mix of formal portraits and candid moments, ensuring that the personality and excitement of the day were reflected in each shot. The lush greenery and expansive lawns of Liberty State Park provided the perfect setting for these photos, offering a blend of elegance and natural beauty.

After the bridal party session, we transitioned into immediate family photos, capturing special moments with Victoria and Mike’s parents, siblings, and close family members. For these photos, it’s always important to document the deep family connections, and with the park’s serene landscape as the backdrop, we created timeless portraits that the couple and their families will cherish for years to come.

The Ceremony at Liberty House: A Picture-Perfect Moment

As the afternoon turned to evening, the ceremony took place at Liberty House. The ceremony space, with its stunning views of the Manhattan skyline, was the ideal location for Victoria and Mike to exchange their vows. With the Hudson River glistening in the background and the Statue of Liberty standing proudly in the distance, the couple’s vows felt even more meaningful against this iconic setting.

The ceremony itself was filled with heartfelt moments, from the couple’s emotional vows to the tears in their parents’ eyes as they watched their children begin their journey as husband and wife. As photographers, we took care to capture every detail, from wide-angle shots of the ceremony space to close-up shots of the couple’s loving glances and their guests’ reactions. The natural beauty of Liberty House combined with the couple’s love for each other made this ceremony one to remember.

Cocktail Hour and Sunset Photos: Golden Hour Magic

After the ceremony, guests gathered for the cocktail hour on the terrace, where they enjoyed delicious appetizers and drinks while taking in the stunning views of the city skyline. During this time, we captured candid photos of the couple’s family and friends as they mingled and shared in the joy of the day. One of the highlights of the cocktail hour was the opportunity to take golden hour photos with Victoria and Mike.

As the sun began to set over the Hudson River, we stepped outside with the couple for a series of romantic portraits. The soft, golden light bathed the couple in a warm glow, and the photos we captured during this time were nothing short of magical. Golden hour is always a special time for wedding photography, and at Liberty House, the combination of the sunset and the iconic skyline created an unforgettable moment for Victoria and Mike.

We also took reception room photos just before the guests entered, ensuring that every detail of the beautifully decorated space was captured. These photos not only showcased the elegance of the reception setup but also provided the couple with a lasting memory of the care and thought that went into creating their perfect day.

Reception: A Night of Celebration

The evening continued with a lively reception inside Liberty House. The room was filled with laughter, music, and celebration as guests enjoyed dinner and dancing. The couple’s first dance was a tender moment that we captured with both wide shots of the dance floor and intimate close-ups of their joyful expressions. Following their first dance, the parent dances added even more emotion to the night, with both Victoria and Mike sharing special moments with their parents on the dance floor.

During the dinner service, we took table photos with the couple’s four family tables, ensuring that every important guest was photographed with the newlyweds. These photos provide a wonderful keepsake for the couple, allowing them to look back on all the people who helped make their day so special.

As the evening progressed, guests took to the dance floor, and we captured candid shots of the fun and excitement that filled the room. The energy of the night was infectious, and we made sure to document every moment—from the heartfelt toasts to the lively dance set that had everyone on their feet.
