Getting Ready at The Westin Jersey City
The day began at The Westin Jersey City Newport, where Angela and José got ready separately with their closest friends and family. The atmosphere was calm and organized, allowing us to focus on those final touches and candid moments that set the tone for the day.
One of the most meaningful moments from the morning was Angela’s first look with her dad. These quieter interactions always add so much depth to both the photo and video coverage, and it was a beautiful way to begin the day before everything picked up.
José’s getting ready coverage had a relaxed, upbeat feel, with time spent capturing details, interactions with his groomsmen, and those small moments that round out the story.

First Look and Portraits at Liberty State Park
After getting ready, everyone traveled to Liberty House, with portraits beginning at Liberty State Park. This is one of the biggest advantages of this venue, having immediate access to one of the most iconic backdrops in the area.
Angela and José chose to do a first look, which gave them a chance to connect privately before the ceremony. From there, we moved into portraits, using the skyline views and open space to create a mix of natural and more editorial images.
The light, the setting, and the energy between them all came together beautifully during this part of the day.

A Fun and Lively Bridal Party (with a Dog)
With a large bridal party and their dog included, this portion of the day had great energy. We captured a mix of classic group photos along with more candid, movement-based moments that reflected everyone’s personality.
Including their dog added such a personal touch and made the portraits feel even more reflective of their lives together.

Family Photos and Ceremony Setup
Family photos followed, with a well-organized list that allowed everything to move efficiently. This is always key at Liberty House, keeping things on schedule so the couple can stay present and enjoy the experience.
As guests began to arrive, we shifted focus to the ceremony space, capturing details and setting the scene before the ceremony began.

Waterfront Ceremony
The ceremony took place with the NYC skyline as a backdrop, one of the defining features of a Liberty House wedding. There’s something about that view that never gets old, and it always adds a sense of scale and elegance to the moment.
Angela and José’s ceremony felt heartfelt and personal, with a natural flow that translated beautifully on both photo and video.

Cocktail Hour and Guest Experience
Cocktail hour at Liberty House is always a highlight, and this one was no exception. Guests moved between spaces, enjoying the views and connecting with one another.
We made sure to capture a wide range of candid guest interactions, along with extended family groupings early in cocktail hour while everyone was gathered together.

Golden Hour by the Water
Just before the reception began, Angela and José stepped out briefly for golden hour portraits. This is always one of the most valuable windows of time at Liberty House.
With sunset over the skyline, the light was soft and flattering, creating some of the most timeless images of the day. Even a short amount of time here makes a big impact on the final gallery.

Reception in the Liberty Room
The reception took place in the Liberty Room, a space that balances elegance with a lively, welcoming atmosphere. As guests entered, the room felt full and energetic, setting the tone for the rest of the night.
Angela and José chose to include table photos, which allowed them to connect with every guest while also ensuring everyone was captured. When planned properly, this can be a great way to document all of the important people in the room.
From entrances to dancing, the energy stayed high throughout the evening. The combination of a full guest list, a great layout, and a strong timeline kept everything moving seamlessly.

A Celebration That Felt Complete
From the first moments of getting ready to the final events of the reception, Angela and José’s wedding felt thoughtful, well-paced, and full of personality.
Liberty House continues to be one of the best venues for couples who want a waterfront setting with skyline views, while still keeping everything in one location.
Angela and José made the most of every part of the day, from their first look in Liberty State Park to golden hour by the water and a packed reception in the Liberty Room.
