Pleasantdale Chateau Greek Wedding Photography
Valerie and Anthony’s wedding photos at Pleasantdale Chateau was a beautiful blend of timeless elegance and meaningful Greek Orthodox traditions. With 315 guests, a full day of events, and one of New Jersey’s most iconic estates as the backdrop, their celebration felt expansive, warm, and deeply rooted in family. Pleasantdale Chateau is known for its grand architecture, winding corridors, and dramatic grounds, all of which offered photographic opportunities from the moment we arrived. From the bride’s family home in Whitestone to the ornate Greek church in Roseland and finally to the chateau’s sweeping gardens, every setting brought its own aesthetic and cultural significance to the day. Getting Ready
The morning began with Valerie at her family home, surrounded by loved ones as the final touches of hair and makeup were completed. The house was full of movement and anticipation, with bridesmaids in robes, details set aside in soft natural light, and her gown hanging beautifully for its own portrait. We photographed finishing touches, the moment she stepped into her dress, and a tender first look with her father on the staircase. Outside, the classic Rolls Royce waited for a few portraits before the journey began.
While Valerie and the women prepared in Whitestone, Anthony and his groomsmen were getting ready in Poughkeepsie. His morning included the traditional accessory shots, family moments, and the energy that builds before leaving for the church. Both households were warm, lively, and filled with the anticipation of a large Greek wedding ahead.

Ceremony
The ceremony took place at Ss. Nicholas, Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, an important location for the couple and a stunning environment to photograph. Greek Orthodox ceremonies are rich with symbolic rituals, and we focused on capturing these moments with care: the crowning of the couple, the lighting, the readings, and the ceremonial walk. The church itself offered layers of depth with its iconography and warm ambient light.
The crowning ceremony, one of the most meaningful parts of a Greek Orthodox wedding, was a key moment. The exchange of the stefana, the procession around the altar, and the priest’s blessings were all photographed from multiple angles to preserve the full emotional and spiritual arc of the service. After the ceremony, guests gathered outside for a petal toss as Valerie and Anthony exited the church, marking their first moments as newlyweds.

Portraits and Venue Details
From the church, we traveled directly to Pleasantdale Chateau to take advantage of the last minutes of daylight. The estate’s grounds are unmatched in their combination of grandeur and intimacy. Valerie and Anthony moved effortlessly through the gardens, courtyards, and stone pathways for their portraits. The late November sun created a soft glow over the property, allowing us to capture a wide range of editorial-style images before sunset at 4:32 pm.
The bridal party joined for portraits shortly after, followed by immediate family photos. With Greek weddings, family plays a central role, and we photographed each group with precision and timing to ensure that every requested combination was captured. Pleasantdale Chateau’s architecture provided a dynamic backdrop, from the chateau’s facade and grand entryway to quiet corners of the grounds that allowed for more intimate portraits.
As evening settled in, we took additional portraits of Valerie and Anthony under the warm exterior lighting of the chateau. The nighttime session created some of the most romantic images of the day, with reflections, dramatic lighting, and the textured stonework adding depth and contrast.
Before the reception began, we photographed the ballroom fully set, highlighting the elevated décor, florals, and lighting design. Pleasantdale Chateau’s reception spaces always feel luxurious and cinematic, and capturing both empty-room shots and images with the couple allowed us to document the atmosphere exactly as it was intended.

Reception
Valerie and Anthony’s reception was as vibrant as their ceremony was traditional. Greek weddings are known for their energy, music, and dancing, and the evening delivered all of it. The couple shared a first dance that transitioned directly into circles of relatives and friends cheering them on. Throughout the night, guests filled the dance floor, creating fast-paced, joyful moments perfect for candid photography.
During cocktail hour and the early part of the reception, we captured details of the food displays, live entertainment, and guests mingling throughout Pleasantdale’s beautifully appointed rooms. The ballroom itself came alive once dinner began. The couple opted out of table photos, preferring natural interaction shots and posed moments with guests throughout the night, which gave us greater freedom to document genuine expressions and movement.
Family speeches continued the Greek tradition of heartfelt blessings and shared stories. The night concluded with more dancing, including traditional Greek circle dances, which are always a highlight to photograph. These moments are expressive, energetic, and rooted in cultural heritage, adding meaning to the celebration and dimension to the final gallery.

Valerie and Anthony’s Pleasantdale Chateau Greek wedding was a beautiful fusion of culture, architecture, and celebration. Pleasantdale’s luxurious environment paired perfectly with the traditions of a Greek Orthodox wedding, giving us inspiration at every turn and allowing for a variety of photographic styles throughout the day. From the emotional ceremony to the spirited reception, every moment felt rich with meaning and connection. Their gallery is filled with images that reflect both the grandeur of the venue and the intimate moments shared among family, creating a timeless collection of photographs they will cherish for years to come.
