Stone House, with its architectural textures, clean lines, and glowing interiors, provided a memorable backdrop for their portrait session, family photos, and lively reception.
What stood out immediately about this wedding was how seamlessly the day flowed from one moment to the next. With a meaningful church ceremony, an enthusiastic bridal party, and family members who were deeply connected to the couple, every part of the day brought out natural emotion and strong photographic moments. Getting Ready
The day began in Fanwood, where Brianna was getting ready at her family home. Makeup was complete by the time the photographers arrived, allowing the morning to feel calm and organized. Everyone was in matching robes, adding a sense of unity to the getting ready photos. A tidy room, carefully gathered details, and the dress hanging beautifully set the tone for an editorial approach to the early portion of the day.
Many of the sweetest images came from Brianna interacting with her family. The finishing touches were photographed in natural window light, followed by portraits of Brianna as she stepped into her gown. The first look with her father was particularly meaningful, and the moment felt intimate and emotional in a quiet, natural way. These early interactions captured the love and warmth that carried through the rest of the day.
Meanwhile, Jake was getting ready at the Embassy Suites in Berkeley Heights. The hotel’s modern style and clean lines worked beautifully for his portraits. As he adjusted his tie and cufflinks, the groomsmen gathered for portraits and casual interactions that helped set the tone. A brief, heartfelt moment with his mother outside the church later added even more depth to the story of the day.

Ceremony
The ceremony took place at St. Bartholomew Church in Scotch Plains. This classic, welcoming church was filled with warm light and a sense of timelessness. As guests entered, the anticipation built, and Brianna’s walk down the aisle became one of the most memorable moments of the day. The church’s long central aisle and high ceilings created a dramatic, beautiful setting for photography.
During the ceremony, we captured the traditional Catholic rituals, the couple’s expressions during the readings and vows, and the heartfelt reactions from their families. St. Bartholomew Church offers opportunities for wide architectural shots as well as close, emotional angles, allowing us to tell a complete visual story of the ceremony.
Once the couple exited the church, their family and bridal party gathered for a joyful bubble exit on the front steps. The energy was upbeat and celebratory, creating fun, candid images that contrasted beautifully with the quiet stillness inside the church. These transitions—from sacred ceremony to lively celebration—are often some of the most dynamic parts of a wedding day, and Brianna and Jake embraced every moment.

Portraits and Venue Details
After leaving the church, everyone traveled to Stone House at Stirling Ridge. The venue’s grounds, with their mix of greenery, stone textures, and modern architectural features, provided endless opportunities for creative compositions. Because sunset on this November day fell at 4:43 pm, we worked efficiently to capture bride and groom portraits in the soft, fading light.
Stone House is especially beautiful in the late afternoon, when its warm exterior lighting begins to glow against the natural surroundings. Brianna and Jake’s portraits incorporated a mix of sweeping outdoor images, intimate close-ups, and editorial-style posing. Their chemistry was natural and joyful, making the portrait session feel relaxed and effortless.
Family photos continued at the venue, ensuring that everyone important to the couple was included in the gallery. With a large extended family and many significant relationships, this portion of the day was detailed and organized. The venue’s clean outdoor spaces created a consistent backdrop, allowing the focus to remain on the individuals in the portraits.
The bridal party session followed, bringing fun energy and movement to the photography. With fifteen people in the bridal party, the images showcase both formal structure and moments of personality. Stone House’s neutral, modern aesthetic worked beautifully with the party’s attire, creating timeless images that fit the overall style of the venue.
Inside the venue, reception room details were photographed before guests entered. Stone House is known for its warm lighting, textured walls, and modern décor that always photographs well. The candles, florals, and décor choices came together to create an inviting atmosphere. Brianna and Jake stepped into the room for portraits as well, documenting the moment they saw their reception space for the first time.

Reception
The reception at Stone House balanced elegance with genuine celebration. Brianna and Jake chose to do table photos, an excellent choice for documenting the guests who supported them on their wedding day. Table photos require coordination with the dinner schedule, and with both photographers working efficiently, we captured every table during the salad course.
Throughout the evening, speeches, dancing, and candid interactions filled the space with emotion and energy. With 165 guests, the dance floor quickly became a vibrant focal point of the reception. Stone House’s warm interior lighting added depth and richness to the images, complementing the movement and expressions of the guests.
One of the standout moments was the cake cutting. Scheduled before the photographers’ departure, this allowed time to capture both candid and composed shots of the couple. The surrounding décor and lighting made this simple moment feel intimate and personal.
As the evening continued, we focused on capturing candid portraits of guests, small groupings, and meaningful interactions. Stone House at Stirling Ridge naturally encourages a warm, communal feeling, and this reception was a perfect example of how lively, elegant, and connected a wedding at this venue can be.
