Venue: 60 Pine Street
We were thrilled to capture our first wedding at 60 Pine Street. After hearing that Masterpiece Caterers had added this striking new venue to their portfolio, we couldn’t wait to bring our cameras through its doors. From the moment our elegant couple arrived, it was clear they’d planned every detail to perfection—and with over a decade of working alongside Masterpiece, we knew this celebration would be nothing short of spectacular.
Getting Ready Nearby
Our day began next door at the boutique hotel where the bridal suite awaits. Soft morning light poured through floor-to-ceiling windows onto the bride’s gown draped across a velvet settee. We staged her invitations, rings, and bouquet—rich ivory roses and trailing greenery—on a reclaimed-wood table and captured a detail shot of the suite’s ornate mirror. Between candid moments of laughter with her closest friends and a few poised editorial frames, we focused on genuine emotion: a mother’s gentle adjustment of a veil, a bridesmaid smoothing a lace sleeve, and the quiet excitement in the bride’s eyes.
Just down the hall, the groom and his groomsmen prepared in the venue’s private reading room. Dark leather chairs and tall windows made the perfect backdrop for “finishing touches” shots: cufflinks being fastened, tie knots being straightened, and a best man’s encouraging grin. We love these introductory moments, where anticipation and camaraderie set the tone for everything that follows.
A Venue Crafted for Celebration
60 Pine Street blends historic charm with modern flair. The soaring ceilings, polished wood floors, and gallery-like walls create an atmosphere that feels both grand and inviting. Whether framed against the sleek bar backlit by glowing bottles or posed on the sweeping staircase, every corner offers an opportunity for editorial-style portraiture. Outside, the building’s iconic facade and the bustle of Wall Street lend an unmistakable New York energy to each image.
First Look on the Grand Staircase
Back at the venue, the bride and groom shared a private first look on the grand staircase. The bride’s dress cascaded down the steps like a waterfall of tulle, and the groom’s expression—equal parts awe and joy—made for one of our favorite frames of the season. With natural light streaming in, we alternated between wide-angle shots that captured the venue’s architecture and tight, intimate frames that documented the couple’s unscripted reactions.
Blending Editorial and Photojournalism
Throughout the day, we wove together posed editorial portraits and photojournalistic candids. In the gallery space adjacent to the main bar, bridesmaids and groomsmen gathered for group shots—once fully arranged, then again as we let conversation flow naturally to capture laughter and simple gestures. When a sudden burst of excitement broke out, we were there to seize those fleeting moments: a blush of surprise, a shared inside joke, a heartfelt toast.
Family and Friends
Family portraits took place in a cozy corner of the venue, where warm wood tones and sculptural artwork provided a timeless backdrop. Rather than rattling off a rigid checklist, we collaborated with a trusted relative who guided us through each grouping. Three generations gathered in frames that balance formal poise with affectionate closeness—grandparents seated on an antique loveseat, parents embracing their children, siblings leaning in for whispered words.
An Intimate Ceremony
The ceremony unfolded in an elegant event space flooded with candlelight and soft blooms. As vows were exchanged beneath a minimalist arch of white florals and greenery, the room seemed to hold its breath. We captured the tender exchange of rings, the brush of a hand to a cheek, and the first married kiss against a backdrop of twinkling chandeliers. The couple’s recessional included a playful dip in the aisle, perfectly reflecting the joyous spirit of the day.
Cocktail Hour & Seasonal Details
Cocktail hour invited guests into a beautifully styled lounge area, where low lounge seating, metallic accents, and artful hors d’oeuvres appeared against the venue’s sleek lines. We split our focus between details—the sheen on a champagne flute, the dewy petals of a boutonnière—and lively guest interactions: animated conversations, children making mischief, friends raising glasses in celebration. Working the space unobtrusively, we created a visual diary of the evening’s warm energy.
Dinner, Dancing, and Cake
Dinner service commenced beneath a canopy of soft uplighting. Without formal table-by-table portraits, we moved fluidly between seated guests and the head table, offering unposed shots of clinking glasses and heartfelt toasts. As the dance floor opened, our cameras captured the couple’s first dance—a cinematic embrace in the center of the polished floor—followed by parent dances and joyous spins with family and friends. The cake cutting capped the night with a sweet moment: a three-tiered confection adorned with seasonal berries and a tender, frosting-smeared kiss.
