Christy and Kevin’s wedding at Liberty House was a stunning celebration of love, culture, and breathtaking views. From the intimate tea ceremony to the vibrant reception, every moment was thoughtfully planned and beautifully captured by lead photographer Massimo and second photographer Ryan, alongside videographers Asya and Angel.
Getting Ready in Jersey City and New York
The day began at Canopy by Hilton Jersey City Arts District, where Christy prepared for her big day. She first donned a traditional Chinese red dress before switching to her elegant white wedding gown. Surrounded by her bridesmaids, final makeup touches were applied in a bright and tidy suite, ensuring that every detail—from the bouquet to the invitation suite—was ready for photography. Meanwhile, Kevin and his groomsmen prepared at his New York apartment. The groom’s final touches were captured with his groomsmen before he made his way to the venue.
Chinese Tea Ceremony
Before the first look, Christy and Kevin honored tradition with a tea ceremony at Liberty House. Held indoors, this intimate moment allowed the couple to share a heartfelt exchange with their families. Asya and Angel ensured the ceremony was well-documented, with microphones and cameras set up to capture every moment.
First Look and Couple’s Portraits
After the tea ceremony, Christy changed into her white gown for the much-anticipated first look. The couple met on the patio outside Liberty House, with the New York City skyline as their backdrop. Their portraits featured a mix of iconic cityscapes and lush greenery, avoiding less preferred locations and instead opting for the elegant platform area near the venue.
Bridal Party and Family Portraits
Bridal party portraits were taken at the historic train station in Liberty State Park, a picturesque location that required a permit but provided a stunning vintage backdrop. Following this, family portraits were held on the patio with evergreen trees in the background, ensuring a natural and timeless look. With the help of the second photographer, alternative shaded spots were also considered to avoid harsh sunlight.
A Beautiful Ceremony Overlooking the Skyline
The ceremony took place outdoors, framed by the breathtaking city views. A string trio provided elegant background music as guests gathered. The videography team ensured all details were captured, from the officiant’s heartfelt words to the couple’s emotional vows. With mics properly set up and cameras positioned strategically, the ceremony was beautifully documented. As you can see the floral arches were to die for, we used them in every shot, they looked so gorgeous behind our lovely bride and groom.
Cocktail Hour and Reception Festivities
Guests mingled during the cocktail hour while the photographers captured candid interactions and detailed shots of the beautifully styled reception space. Christy and Kevin opted for plenty of casual, natural photos with their guests, ensuring that the joy of the celebration was fully reflected in their wedding gallery.
Golden Hour Portraits
At sunset, the couple stepped outside for golden hour portraits, capturing the soft, romantic glow of the evening. Later in the night, they returned for stunning nighttime shots featuring the NYC skyline. The reception continued with lively dancing, heartfelt speeches, and a beautiful cake-cutting moment at 9:45 PM. To end the night on a high note, sparklers lit up the evening as the couple celebrated with their bridal party and family.
A Perfectly Timed Celebration
With careful planning and seamless coordination, Christy and Kevin’s wedding day unfolded effortlessly. Their love and joy were evident in every moment, and it was an honor to capture their celebration. Wishing them a lifetime of happiness together!
Cake Cutting Outside
I love that Christy and Kevin took their cake outside to cut it at night time with the NYC skyline behind them. I am all for going outside to get an un-obstucted shot of that gorgeous view of big apple!
Sparklers During the Cake Cutting
I thought this was a lovely idea, sparklers add a bit of fun to the wedding day, why not do them while cutting the cake? Genious!
