Working with Jody and Troy on their engagement and wedding photos at The Royalton at Roslyn Country Club was such a pleasure. I could not have wished for a more kind and photogenic couple. I am always happy to shoot weddings on Long Island, it is nice to leave New York City to spend some time in a beautiful wedding venue for the day. Massimo and I began shooting the bride and groom’s getting-ready photos in The Royalton’s bridal suites. When I saw Jody in the makeup chair, I knew the photos would be magical as she looked truly amazing. When the bride and groom were ready for their first look, we positioned them in front of the estate with the building as our backdrop. There was a little rain earlier in the day, which was occasionally falling from the trees, so we carefully took the couple around to the courtyard for more photos and bridal party portraits. We then took pictures of the couple’s respective families in one of The Royalton’s beautifully-appointed rooms with the addition of our off-camera lighting. After the family photos were complete, we got in place for the ceremony. A friend of the couple sang a heartfelt song and the bride and groom’s mothers were in tears as they said their vows. The entire event was a very memorable program, as you can see. This is one of the most remarkable country club weddings I have had the pleasure of photographing. I am so grateful that this lovely couple chose us to take their wedding photos.
