Tarrytown House Estate Wedding Photography: Samantha and Andrew’s Elegant Fall Celebration

Samantha and Andrew’s Tarrytown House Estate wedding was an unforgettable fall celebration, filled with meaningful traditions, emotional family moments, and the unmistakable charm of this historic Hudson Valley venue. Their wedding palette centered around rich shades of green, a choice that beautifully complemented the estate’s lush landscape and timeless architecture. The couple was blessed with a stunning October day, complete with soft golden light that enhanced every moment and added a warm glow to their portraits.

What made this day especially meaningful for our studio was that Andrew is a photographer himself. Being trusted by someone in the industry is an honor we never take lightly, and capturing this day for him and Samantha was a privilege for our entire team.

Getting ready at Tarrytown House Estate

Both Samantha and Andrew got ready on-site, allowing for a calm and seamless start to the day. Samantha prepared in the Knickerbocker room with her family, surrounded by fresh florals and elegant details. The green color story tied beautifully into her invitations, accessories, and bouquet, creating a cohesive visual aesthetic from the very beginning.

The room was filled with soft natural light, perfect for photographing her gown, rings, and meaningful bridal items. Her first look with her dad was one of the most emotional moments of the morning, set against the warm tones of the historic estate.

Across the property, Andrew was preparing with his groomsmen, parents, and members of the bridal party. His background as a photographer made this portion of the day flow effortlessly. He understood the pacing needed for strong imagery and naturally gravitated toward moments that felt genuine rather than posed.

First look and portraits on the grounds

The estate’s fall foliage, manicured lawns, and stone pathways created a cinematic backdrop for Samantha and Andrew’s first look. The green tones of their wedding palette blended beautifully with the early autumn landscape, while the afternoon sun cast a golden glow across the property.

Their portraits were a perfect combination of editorial and organic. Tarrytown House Estate offers endless opportunities: ivy-covered walls, tree-lined paths, and grand architectural elements that pair beautifully with refined, timeless photography. With golden October light illuminating the grounds, every frame had warmth and depth.

Bridal party and family photos

The bridal party, featuring nine bridesmaids and nine groomsmen, brought wonderful energy to the day. The estate’s expansive grounds allowed us to create group portraits with clean compositions and natural backgrounds that showcased both the group and the surrounding scenery.

Family photos were a significant part of Samantha and Andrew’s wedding. With multiple family groupings and several generations present, we ensured a structured, organized flow. The outdoor locations—enhanced by the lush greenery and warm fall light—gave these portraits a vibrant, elegant feel. Interior mansion rooms served as a backup, continuing the classic aesthetic if needed.

The Ketubah signing

As the afternoon light softened, we photographed Samantha and Andrew again before heading inside for the Ketubah signing. October golden hour is one of the most beautiful moments at Tarrytown House Estate, and the couple took full advantage of that glow.

The Ketubah signing was held inside the mansion. Intimate, heartfelt, and steeped in tradition, this moment set the emotional tone for the ceremony and offered a quiet pause before guests gathered.

Outdoor ceremony on the estate grounds

Samantha and Andrew held their ceremony outdoors, framed by the estate’s rich greenery and fall atmosphere. The golden October light filtered through the trees as guests gathered, creating a warm, elegant ambiance that elevated the entire ceremony. Every detail—from the florals to the chuppah—reflected their color palette and the natural beauty of the setting.

Cocktail hour on the West Terrace and Mansion spaces

Cocktail hour took place throughout the West Terrace, Library, and Sunporch. The estate’s architecture and surrounding greenery created a polished yet inviting atmosphere for candid guest portraits, detail shots, and ambient storytelling.

Guests enjoyed mingling through indoor and outdoor spaces, while Samantha and Andrew stepped out briefly for sunset photos. The golden light was at its peak, giving them some of the most luminous portraits of the day.

Reception in the historic mansion

The reception was held in the mansion, where candlelight, greenery, and warm tones carried the color palette into the evening. Their first dance, followed by an energetic hora, brought family and friends together in a celebration full of movement and joy.

Throughout the evening, Samantha and Andrew visited each table for photographs, ensuring that all 185 guests were included. Toasts, parent dances, and vibrant dance sets filled the night, and the estate’s classic interiors contributed to the warm, timeless feel of the final images.
