A Guide To Help You Look And Feel Your Best Before The Big Day

You’ve booked your photographer, locked in your timeline, and submitted your final payment — now it’s time for the fun part: getting ready for the big day!

Whether you’re naturally camera-ready or not quite sure what to do with your hands, we’ve got you covered. These tips will help you feel relaxed, confident, and totally yourself when the big day arrives.

Don’t Skip the Questionnaire

Our Pre-Wedding Questionnaire helps us get all the right details—your must-have shots, family dynamics, vendor contacts, and the story behind your day. If you haven’t filled it out yet, now’s the time! It helps us prep your timeline and make sure nothing gets missed.

Assign Someone to Help us Gather Guests

There are often a few groups of VIPs you would like to have photos with on the big day – that are outside of your wedding party. Share your must have photo list with us and a special friend who can help us gather those guests, this really optimizes our time so we can focus on great details and portraits.

What to Have Ready for Detail Shots

We love to begin the day by capturing the meaningful details that make your wedding personal.

Set aside these items in advance:
• Your full invitation suite (envelopes, wax seals, etc.)
• Ring boxes and rings
• Jewelry, cufflinks, shoes
• Perfume or cologne
• Heirlooms or personal touches
• Any custom signage, vows, or letters

How to Feel Comfortable in Front of the Camera

Most couples tell us they’re nervous about being photographed. Trust us—we hear this all the time.

Here’s what helps:
• Focus on each other – Not the camera. Laugh, talk, move naturally.
• Trust the process – We’ll gently guide you through flattering poses and prompts so nothing feels stiff.
• Avoid trying to act funny – The truth is, a little silly is fun! But when you exaggerate too much – you are going to miss those emotional moments in your album too.

Research a few poses

We have created a really awesome list of poses – or take a deep dive in pinterest. It is great to have a few ideas when the couples shoot starts off – but don’t worry, after the first we shots, you will start feeling more natural.

A Few Final Reminders

• Make sure all your key vendors have our timeline once it’s finalized.
• Don’t forget to eat, hydrate, and get sleep the night before. Seriously—it makes a difference in how you feel and look.
• And finally… let go, be present, and enjoy it. We’ve got the rest.
